UND Movie Making Camp


Adults: May 12-23, 2008

Teens: June 9–20, 2008


Week #1
– Develop a short screenplay with Kathy Coudle King, award winning screenwriter and playwright. ($75.00)

Adults, May12, 13, & 14 from 6:00 – 9:30 p.m.                 Youth, June 9-13 from 3:00-5:00 p.m.

Kathy will teach you how to develop plot, character, and dialogue.  You will also learn professional screenwriting format & what opportunities await the beginning screenwriter. 

*Selected writers will have their script made into a movie in week #2.*


Week #2
– Learn what’s involved in pre-production, shooting, directing, and editing digital movies with independent movie maker, Christopher P. Jacobs.  Get hands-on experience on Final Cut software in a state of the art editing lab. ($125.00)

Adults, May 19th – 23rd 6 – 10 p.m.  Youth, June 16th -20th, 1-5 p.m.

 

 Attend both weeks for $180.00.


World Premiere Screening

You can see your stories come to life on the big screen at the historic Empire Theatre in downtown Grand Forks!

Movies made for the two workshops will be presented starting at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 29 at the Empire Arts Center. Admission is free to all workshop participants and only $3 for the general public.

 

 

And, New This Year. . .

     “Hurray for Cellywood!”

Grand Forks’ first festival of very short, shorts

(1-2 minutes) shot entirely with participants’ cell

phones.  The cellphone movie is a new genre that
is increasingly in demand by advertisers and  
businesses with web sites.  However, it is
challenging to tell a full story in under 2 minutes.
